Cobalt

Cobalt (Co) is necessary for the caecal and colonic microflora to produce vitamin B12. The requirement for cobalt is set to 0.1 mg/kg dry matter in the ration. Cobalt is found within forages and may be added to compound feeds. Feeds without additional cobalt will normally provide a higher level of B12 to compensate.
