Body weight, weight development and weight gain (v3)
Enter the horse's chest size and enter the condition.
PC-Horse proposes the expected weight of the actual breed.
Accept and save a weight on today's date.
You can add previous weights and sort the table in date order afterwards.
In the lower left corner you can regulate the energy requirement in relation to the horse's condition.

For young horses, the weight curve (red circles) is presented next to the expected normal weight curve (orange triangle) so that you can clearly follow and compensate the feeding of your young horse during its important growth period.

The weight gain is a simple little tool that helps you convert an approximate weight guess to a breast measures proposal.
When you enter the proposed chest size in the box, the value is converted to a relevant value (i.e the current horse's status race, age, condition, etc.) - and inserted in the weight table.

Correction of body weight
Use the «body weight control» to change the horse’s requirement for energy when you consider the horse to be too thin (it needs more energy) or too well fed and heavy (needs less energy). With time you will bring body weight and body condition towards your target through changing the maintenance energy requirement. The «body weight control» does not influence any of the other nutrients.

Please note that if you use the weight control function on for instance exercised or pregnant horses, the weight correction factor you define will only change the calculated energy maintenance requirement. The energy requirements for exercise or pregnancy will not be affected. The energy requirement shown by PC-Horse is therefore, as always, the sum of the individual requirements for maintenance and the horse’s activity.
